Now that the community has had some time to work with the new 1.5 ruleset and experiment with some builds, how has the squadron game shifted in your local meta? I know most game shops have yet to open their doors completely so any meta changes will be slow to propagate, but with the popularity of Vassal tournaments and some in-house matches I think we might be able to determine some early observations. Prior to 1.5, many people debated that an Ace-Cap would either increase or decrease the variety of aces brought to the field. Others predicted an increase in MFC groups, as opposed to either SFC or LFC. Has anyone observed these trends beginning to form, or do you think the squadron game has evolved in an unforeseen direction?

I used to frequent the Fantasy Flight Games Center is Roseville MN for their weekly armada nights, since it was one of the few places near the Twin Cities that organized a weekly Armada meet-up. Unfortunately, it seems they aren't very good at updating their hours/schedule online now that things are finally starting to open up. I know they're now holding open gaming nights again, but has the Armada scene there resurfaced? If not, any suggestions on another LGS that runs Armada on a regular basis near Minneapolis?

With the long awaited release of the Republic and CIS as factions in Armada, the introduction of Jar-Jar Binks as an upgrade seems inevitable. Given his role as comic relief and his notorious status amongst fans, his ability is sure to be both unique and bizarre. I think it's unlikely he would ever be an admiral, which would only realistically leave the officer position. How would you guys write a Jar-Jar Binks officer card? While certainly not a competitive upgrade, my idea is as follows; Representative Binks (Officer) At the start of the ship phase, this ship gains one raid token of the owner's choice. When this ship discards a command dial to remove raid tokens, you may move this card to another ship at distance 1-3 4 pts

In Fleet Builds
For my new foray into the magical world of Armada 1.5, I decided to craft a list based around my favorite ship, the good old Nebulon-B. I originally wanted to use Leia as my admiral since she had her price reduced, but I felt like Garm was a better fit since he provides better command flexibility and tokens for Fleet Commands. Not entirely sure how viable my new Yavaris build is, or how my fighter screen will hold up. Input is always appreciated!
