@itzSteve If you're willing to wait until the squadron phase, you could probably do something fun with Invisible Hand + Rapid Launch Bays with TI-99. Vomit out, say, 9 Vultures and activate 5 for the IH bonus, forcing your opponent to either eat Counter 3 from the Vultures he's now tied up with, or shoot your already activated squads and get shot more later. Phlacc-Arphoc or Grievous would love it too. It's nearly 100 points in AA tech with partially limited reach so I wouldn't say it's good, but it at least seems entertaining and you could have a few Hyenas lurking.

I'm afraid not. Hyperwave Signal Boost only treats a squadron as though it were activated with a squadron command "while attacking." Even if that weren't the case, it couldn't affect squads that aren't already on the table. It takes an actual squadron command to deploy those squads, and those occur outside HSB's timing window.

I think it depends a lot on one's opinion of how good defensive retrofits should be, which is tied to a more fundamental opinion of what the game should look like. How long should combat last? How viable should large bases be compared to MSU, where defensive upgrades don't scale as well? How good should carrier fleets be at surviving large dice pools while they bomb? Drasnighta has mentioned the "rule of 3," namely that most defensive retrofits avert 3 damage over the course of a typical game. But many of those retrofits simply aren't worth their points cost, like Cluster Bombs (potentially useless and susceptible to counterplay) and Redundant Shields (just bad.) ECM does more than that, and I think of it as a good benchmark going forward because of how much it has defined the game already: everything from competition like EWS and Thermals to ship designs like the Starhawk. The nerf is minor and means you need 1-2 more repair tokens than before. 2 points for Hondo.

Yep, perfectly legal. There's no restriction on keeping squadron movement within the play area, just... harsh and immediate consequences.

Furthermore, both wield comparable fleets over similar swathes of territory. Though it once seemed an unlikely union, the House Crimson Diarchy proves an effective and stable government for the Omris Sector in the years to come. @GhostofNobodyInParticular and @idjmv enjoy control of more localized sections of space, but with vibrant cultures and thriving populations nonetheless. @Bertie Wooster remains fully able continue his bloody reign of terror, or perhaps "retire" as a wealthy sector governor or the like. With wartime at an end, our two man-goat hybrids manage to end their long-standing rivalry, the details of which may never come fully to light... No, raid tokens don't stop any use of command tokens beyond resolving a command. Fleet commands, ready costs, boarding teams, etc. are unaffected by raid.
