I‘ve been using my Recusant as a flanker and whilst setting up my Mar Tuuk list I was a bit pushed for points. After investigating, I found that if I used a Star Frigate with ET’s I could shave 3 points off as below: - Munificent Star Frigate (73) • Engine Techs (8) • Thermal Shields (5) • Tide of Progress XII (2) = 88 Points Recusant Light Destroyer (85) • Patriot Fist (6) = 91 Points Each has throt good and bad points (continual nav on the SF to utilize double arcing springs to mind) but I believe the Thermal Shields would provide a better dividend than the two extra hull (plus 1 extra shield at the front On the SF). I tried it out in my last list (I actually had Sa Naloar as the title but didn’t get to use it) and it performed great! Nose to nose with an Acclimator and it easily came off best. Does anyone else agree or is Patriot Fist the best choice?

I tried Trench out earlier this year (see Bat Rep) but couldn’t get the hang of it. Went to an in person get together at my local game store and played against someone running Trench and saw how he actually should be played lol. Thinking of running this next game: - Name: Spider Man! Faction: Separatist Commander: Admiral Trench Assault: Surprise Attack Defense: Jamming Barrier Navigation: Superior Positions Providence Carrier (105) • Admiral Trench (36) • Rune Haako (4) • Thermal Shields (5) • Expanded Hangar Bay (5) • External Racks (4) • Linked Turbolaser Towers (7) = 166 Points Munificent Comms Frigate (70) • Linked Turbolaser Towers (7) • Tide of Progress XII (2) = 79 Points Hardcell Transport (47) • Tikkes (2) • Projection Experts (6) • Comms Net (2) = 57 Points Squadrons: • 4 x Hyena Droid Bomber Squadron (44) • 6 x Vulture Droid Fighter Squadron (48) = 92 Points Total Points: 394 Any pointers? One question I have with Jamming barriers (my anti-Onager objective) is that with thermals, does my opponent remove half his dice, then me with Thernals or the other way round?

A quick batrep between my son and I . We deliberately didn’t reveal our fleets to each other until on the cusp of battle. This meant after much psychological warfare on his part he completely outfoxed me by bringing a 6 ship no squadron Kenobi list vs my 2 ship Trench heavy squadron list lol. Without going too much into detail he had both types of Pelta, two Consulates, an Acclimator and a Venetor. My list is below: - Assault: Surprise Attack Defense: Contested Outpost Navigation: Solar Corona Providence Dreadnought (105) • Admiral Trench (36) • Rune Haako (4) • Flight Controllers (6) • Expanded Hangar Bay (5) • External Racks (4) • DBY-827 Heavy Turbolasers (3) • Invincible (5) • Thermal Shields (5) = 173 Points Recusant Support Destroyer (90) • TI-99 (4) • Spinal Armament (9) • Nova Defiant (4) = 107 Points Squadrons: • Baktoid Prototype (16) • 3 x Hyena Droid Bomber Squadron (33) • General Grievous (22) • 6 x Vulture Droid Fighter Squadron (48) = 119 Points Total Points: 399 I think my Trench dials where 2 x Sqn, and one each of Repair and Conc Fire. I was second player and contested outpost was chosen. I loaded up on pass tokens, and first ship down was my Recusant followed by all my Squads, before I revealed my Providence at the end to start racking up the objective tokens. Due to the narrowness of the playing area, we always start with ships touching the long edge. My son apprehensively deployed off to one flank. Setup is as per the picture below at the end. Turn one saw us carry out moves as he tried to swing his ships in a ninety degree turn, and I moved mine at speed 1. My squads got into position with a possible trench squad command squad ready for turn 2. I had my Providence near the station collecting objective tokens. Turn 2 we where still tentatively approaching each other, and I thought that if I wasn’t careful the providence could have been bypassed at turn 5 and lose some points to Contested outpost, so rather than push forward and squadron strike his Pelta’s, I dropped him down to speed zero and sat on the station. All squads where in distance 3 of both ships at the end ready with Squadron tokens. Turn 3 saw me with the Recusant out of range, so I was out activated by the Peltas. I put down my first Trench dial (Sqn) and launched 4 Hyenas at the first Pelta, putting three (?) in his front arc to tempt my son to shoot squads instead of my Recusant (I believe it was blue dice range), but he ignored these. I got some shields off of him and he removed all the shields off the Recusant at the front, rear (redirected) and right hull. I then launched my Vultures and Greivous from the Providence and took more shields and put done damage cards on one Pelta. Providence back up to speed 1. Turn 4 saw me take damage cards to the Recusant including Projector Misalignment so my shields dropped to 0. I took three more damage cards as well this turn it destroyed one Pelta and dished out more damage to the other. (Picture below prior to Clam move, 1st photo). At the end of the turn the Acclimator did a right turn to fire at the Recusant Turn 5 saw me lose my Recusant and I started to lose a few squads. My Providence and squads got rid of the Pelta. Turn 6 saw me lose more squads and I shot at the Venetia which had finally joined the fight. Once points where tallied I had lost more points but gained a massive 120 objective points from Contested Outpost. How did we both find our Admirals? Well, put it this way, we both won’t be using them next game lol. Trench for me was just difficult to co-ordinate, and I found that he only benefited one ship during the turn, so there were either wasted dials, or the proper command dials couldn’t be turned into tokens as I already had them. More homework on Trench required! Apologies for the photos as I uploaded them and they are sideways on lol

As the title states, I’m going to use another Admiral as per below: - Commander: Mar Tuuk Assault: Surprise Attack Defense: Fleet Ambush Navigation: Doomed Station Providence Carrier (105) • Mar Tuuk (28) • Thermal Shields (5) • Intensify Firepower! (6) = 144 Points Recusant Light Destroyer (85) • Patriot Fist (6) = 91 Points Munificent Comms Frigate (70) • Tide of Progress XII (2) = 72 Points Hardcell Transport (47) • Tikkes (2) • Comms Net (2) • Beast of Burden (6) = 57 Points Squadrons: • 4 x Vulture Droid Fighter Squadron (32) = 32 Points Total Points: 396 I find that if I overload my ships with upgrades, I invariably forget some, so I have gone lean. The Munificent takes the centre and slow rolls up the middle with the Vultures. The Providence bring token fed by Tikkes in the Hardcell do a short hook (L or R). The Recusant starts off wide and appears at turn 3 or 4 on a long hook. Simple, just like me! Any comments or criticism are welcome. I do particularly need advice on my objectives. I chose Fleet Ambush to have either the Munificent or Recusant forward to take on any Onagers early or get into the rear flank of an SSD. (Never played one or been against one so hoping this is the right tactic).

I was determined not to spend too much on the Seperatists and to buy the minimum amount for variety and to possibly grab those must have cards when they came out. However with the announcement of no new content for 2022 (and if the new buyer for AMG doesn’t continue Armada, then forever), I bit the bullet and bought a second Core set. I will still buy an extra Munificen and one or two Hardcells when they do (if) they come out as individuals. I would be very interested to know from those that have purchased extra ships whether it is worth running fleets with two Providence or three Recusants, and with which Admirals?

I have never taken Tagge out of my binder. He sits there glaring at me as I skip by him and select anyone but Tagge. Whilst driving the other day, I thought of a possible re-write that might be more useful and get some good use out of him. What if rather than restrict him to two none consecutive rounds but have any rounds? Also, amend how he gives tokens out? Rather than one token per ship twice per game, how about you have a stack of objective tokens on your card, and you have to spend these to use his ability? I thought that he could have say 8 spend tokens, and at any time a friendly ship activates, you could use these (3?) to either gain a defence token in an exhausted state, or use one to ready an exhausted defence token? The exact wording on his card would need to be done right but what does everyone think of this?

Not sure of this build, as it has no Squadrons, and I’m picking up my Recusants tomorrow, but looks fun anyway. I’d like opinions on my choice of Turbolaser, as I’d be able to get in multiple red accuracies. What do you think? Name: Release the Kraken! Faction: Separatist Commander: Kraken Assault: Ion Storm Defense: Contested Outpost Navigation: Volatile Deposits Providence Carrier (105) • Kraken (30) • Rune Haako (4) • Thermal Shields (5) • Intensify Firepower! (6) • External Racks (4) • Point Defense Ion Cannons (4) • Quad Turbolaser Cannons (10) = 168 Points Munificent Comms Frigate (70) • Quad Battery Turrets (5) • Tide of Progress XII (2) = 77 Points Hardcell Transport (47) • Tikkes (2) • Comms Net (2) = 51 Points Recusant Light Destroyer (85) • Assault Proton Torpedoes (4) • Swivel-Mount Batteries (8) = 97 Points Squadrons: = 0 Points Total=393

I’ve done some theory crafting with General Grievous in the past, but now I’ve got myself the Invisible Hand I can build it with the revealed cards. I only own the Core set, 2 Sqn packs and IH, so until my Recusants arrive no cards from that ship. Faction: Separatist Commander: General Grievous Assault: Surprise Attack Defense: Fleet Ambush Navigation: Volatile Deposits Providence Carrier (105) • General Grievous (20) • Thermal Shields (5) • Jedi Hostage (3) • Assault Proton Torpedoes (4) • Swivel-Mount Batteries (8) • Lucid Voice (8) = 153 Points Munificent Star Frigate (73) • Thermal Shields (5) • Linked Turbolaser Towers (7) • Tide of Progress XII (2) = 87 Points Hardcell Battle Refit (52) • Linked Turbolaser Towers (7) = 59 Points Hardcell Transport (47) • Rune Haako (4) • Comms Net (2) = 53 Points Squadrons: • 6 x Vulture Droid Fighter Squadron (48) = 48 Points Total = 400 points Ive selected what I hope are difficult objectives for long range opponents but going first is good as well. I did consider QBT’s for the Hardcell but I want that to be able to go fast. I’ve used LTT’s in the past and found them a good fit, and now that my squadron compliment is small I might need the flak out the sides so no SMB’s. The sole purpose of the Vulture droids is to die magnificently to give me back discarded defence tokens. They are only droids after all so who cares? Any points would be welcome. (When I get the Recusants this will change).

Out for the Count Mk II Having looked at the Providence in a bit more detail I decided to rejig my list and put in an Admiral that I have been using the most, Count Dooku. Faction: Separatist Alliance Commander: Count Dooku Points: 397/400 Assault Objective: Station Assault Defense Objective: Abandoned Mining Facility Navigation Objective: Hyperspace Migration [ flagship ] Providence-class Carrier (105 points) - Count Dooku ( 30 points) - Lucid Voice ( 8 points) - TI-99 ( 4 points) - Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points) - Swivel-Mount Batteries ( 8 points) - Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 4 points) - Jedi Hostage ( 3 points) = 169 total ship cost Munificent-class Comms Frigate (70 points) - Tide of Progress XII ( 2 points) - Medical Team ( 1 points) - Boosted Comms ( 4 points) - Linked Turbolaser Towers ( 7 points) = 84 total ship cost Hardcell-class Transport (47 points) - Beast of Burden ( 6 points) - San Hill ( 3 points) - Comms Net ( 2 points) = 58 total ship cost 1 Baktoid Prototypes ( 16 points) 2 Hyena-class Droid Bomber Squadrons ( 22 points) 6 Vulture-class Droid Fighter Squadrons ( 48 points) = 86 total squadron cost The Providence is there with all it’s shenanigans to go toe-to-toe (and hopefully defeat) the oppositions big hitter. The plan for the Vulture Droids is to hang around this ship and deter the enemy squadrons. The Hardcell is set up to do two jobs. Firstly help command the squadrons, and there is San Hill (phone keeps autocorrecting to SAM) to push the three Hyenas at once if required on two turns. The second job with Comms Net and the Beast title is to feed Providence with command tokens and to flip exhausted defence tokens. The Comms Frigate is using a setup that I’ve found successful before, and with its manoeuvrability can get done good double arcs in. I prefer boosted Comms over hyperwave as Sep squadrons have a tendency to outpace this sedate ship. I picked objectives that I think might work well with Dooku. Never had to play against Thrawn or Bail (neither myself or my son own any GR yet, but as he’s interested in the Clone Wars series on the Mouse channel, some purchases might be made around his birthday lol) so not sure how this would pan out.

This is actually my second list with Grevous hence the title, but the one I’m more interested in feedback for. General G 2.0 Faction: Separatist Alliance Commander: General Grievous Points: 399/400 Assault Objective: Surprise Attack Defense Objective: Fighter Ambush Navigation Objective: Superior Positions [ flagship ] Recusant Light Destroyer (85 points) -  General Grievous  ( 20  points) -  Intel Officer  ( 7  points) -  Ordnance Experts  ( 4  points) -  Reserve Hangar Deck  ( 3  points) -  Swivel-Mount Batteries  ( 8  points) -  Assault Proton Torpedoes  ( 4  points) = 131 total ship cost Munificent-class Comms Frigate (70 points) -  Tide of Progress XII  ( 2  points) -  Rune Haako  ( 4  points) -  Medical Team  ( 1  points) -  Boosted Comms  ( 4  points) -  Linked Turbolaser Towers  ( 7  points) = 88 total ship cost Hardcell-class Battle Refit (52 points) -  Expanded Hangar Bay  ( 5  points) -  Linked Turbolaser Towers  ( 7  points) = 64 total ship cost 1 Baktoid Prototypes ( 16 points) 2 Hyena-class Droid Bomber Squadrons ( 22 points) 1 DFS-311 ( 18 points) 2 Vulture-class Droid Fighter Squadrons ( 16 points) 1 DIS-T81 ( 17 points) 1 Droid Tri-Fighter Squadron ( 11 points) 1 Haor-Chall Prototypes ( 16 points) = 116 total squadron cost The Munificent can command 3 sqns (4 with token from Rune or banked) and the others 2/3. My thoughts are to either launch 3 Vultures and the 2 Tri’s turn one or 4 and all the rest turn 2. The Intel Officer is on the Recusant to block any solitary evade for my APT. Due to lack of ships I opted for a Battle refit Hardcell but had to increase its points unfortunately. When the Recusant comes out, might swap the Battle refit for Transport if there are some good titles or different officers. Any thoughts on this list?

Just to let you all know the new wave 10 ships have been uploaded into the Armada Warlords fleet builder. You can select them and add upgrades to them. Obviously not all the upgrades that are coming with te ships are there, just the revealed cards.

Until I get my hands on a second Core set, I am left with bloating out my 3 droid ships to get up near what is a reasonable list. Commander: Count Dooku Assault: Surprise Attack Defense: Hyperspace Assault Navigation: Superior Positions Munificent Comms Frigate (70) • Count Dooku (30) • Flight Commander (3) • Fighter Coordination Team (3) • Boosted Comms (4) • High-Capacity Ion Turbines (8) • Linked Turbolaser Towers (7) • Tide of Progress XII (2) = 127 Points Hardcell Transport (47) • Flight Commander (3) • Rune Haako (4) • Fighter Coordination Team (3) • Parts Resupply (3) • Beast of Burden (6) = 66 Points Hardcell Battle Refit (52) • Reinforced Blast Doors (5) • Linked Turbolaser Towers (7) • Foreman's Labor (5) = 69 Points Squadrons: • Baktoid Prototype (16) • 2 x Hyena Droid Bomber Squadron (22) • General Grievous (22) • DIS-T81 (17) • 2 x Droid Tri-fighter Squadron (22) • Haor Chall Prototypes (16) • 2 x Vulture Droid Fighter Squadron (16) = 131 Points Total = 393 I have chosen the Count, because until I get more ships, I think Kraken will be hard to pull off. I like the look of the Munificent, with the only extra being the High Cap Ion Turbines. I actually though got good use of these last game! Ive changed my officer to Flight Comdr from Rune, and will see if Boosted Comms is still ok instead of extra Hangar or Hyperwave. Last game, Boosted Comms was key with a speed 1 Muni, so I shall see. I put FC and Rune on the Hardcell to take advantage of the fast speed and grabbing a Sqn token to command 3 at once. The parts resupply was to feed out repair tokens if needed. Not sure if this is necessary, but better than Comms net maybe, because I need the Hardcell to command squadrons initially (until they all die, after all, they’re only droids!). The HC battle refit would probably run with just LTT, if I didn’t need to bloat it out lol. I put my Squadrons into groups of 3 and DIS-T81 as an extra to throw in with Gen G‘s group from the Munificent With a Squadron token. Let me know what you think?

Say I have Rune on a Munificent, so I can have up to 2 tokens for that ship. When I reveal a command, can I do the following: Choose any two tokens from Rune and then I can’t use his tokens any more for the rest of the game, but still take them from others? If I have a Hardcell with Parts resupply, can I take them straight off the resupply pile and during the Hardcell turn then distribute tokens out including to Runes ship if there is space for a token? Thanks in advance!
