I am not that interested in the two new factions and don't think i will buy into them anytime soon. I guess that means i will have to wait quite a while before there will be something new for me. What interests me is how long. Will they start to publish new waves with new stuff for all factions? I hope they don't try to catch up in terms of ship numbers before they get back to the rebels/imperium. What do you guys think?

Another medium ship for Rebels maybe assault frigate Mk1, And another small ship for Imperials maybe the Tartan patrol cruiser.
The Imperial Support Vessel is an obvious one & they could do more squads for GCW stuff if they were to dip into the old EU stuff a bit, TIE Avenger, Scimitar Assault Bomber etc.
Some recosting & edits to existing GCW would not be amiss either (eg: Vader squadron).
The other easy thing to do would be to add a VERY select amount of CW ships to GCW factions. At most I’d say Acclamator for Empire & perhaps the Invisible Hand type for Rebs. But that’s it. Don’t over-do it.
I am not that well versed in the wider canon. I never read a novel or a comic. I personally would not mind if they publish more obscure ships. Or if they would design even new ones for the game. As long as they fit, I would be ok with that. But no new ships at all for the Empire and the Rebels would bum me out. Even if they continue with the other factions.
There is a guy named EC Henry on Youtube who makes ship designs based on background ships from the original trilogy. AMG could start with those if they can't find anything else :D
I agree with your point about rebalancing the existing ships and squadrons. Especially with the new ships some of the older ones need an adjustment quite badly.
I feel like they were scraping the bottom of the barrel of canon when they gave us the Onager and Starhawk. I'd personally be fine with those being the final GCW ships, and then continuing with just Clone Wars ships after that. There are so many options for GCW right now I feel like I could keep playing this game for years.
What I really, really want for GCW is a rebalancing of points values for ships and squadrons.
I can believe there's no playtesting going on right now for Wave 11, but I have a hard time imagining FFG had nothing in the works for Wave 11. If they did have something in the works, they would have been required to hand to AMG I think. But since we have no indication that AMG has a developer for Armada, we are going to be waiting for a longer period of time for the next wave than we would if Asmodee just left it in FFG's hands.
I hope when (if?) it is released, the Dreadnought will be for all initially the GAR, but have cards for rebel and Imps.
I think for the GCW release, it will be an MC40, and an Imperial Strike Cruiser (good shields and tokens, but low hull due to its modular construction).
It will be a shame if these (or whatever is next) are either rushed out to satisfy the ”Company profits”, or even if they aren’t in the planning phase yet and it is 2023 for release.
Thanks for the insight! That's even worse than i imagined. I had no idea the games situation is that bad. The new factions could have brought a wider player base to the game. But as you say, those will be mostly gone after two years without anything new. In the end there will be probably the same people as before. Now owning four fleets instead of two. I know the player base of Armada has been rather undemanding in terms of publication speed but this seems, at least to me, quite dangerous for the survival of the game as a whole.
Do you think Asmodee/AMG will try to mitigate the effect by other means? For example by publishing mini-waves? That's just from the top of my head but I am thinking of booster pack sized cardpacks or squadron packs with only two different types of squads. That way the balancing would be less difficult and the playtesting phase could be shortened without compromising on the quality.
We‘ve heard that there is a 2-year-production time from planning a new product until it arrives the stores. AMG really seemed to be catched by surprise when they were announced as the new Star Wars developping team. I heard from play testers that there was no play testing after wave 10 and then their contracts were canceled (or ended or what ever). A guy who normally has good intel like Crabbok just told us in a video that he doesn‘t here anything at all at the moment.
I personally don‘t think, that there was anything in development after wave 10 and that AMG has to build up a new team of devs. We will see the next ships in 2023. And the only details you could predict is a delay of several months. Till then they may produce the old stuff to an amount that anyone could find something to buy into the game.
It‘s a real shame to do that to Armada just after introducing two new factions. We will lose a whole bunch of players that came for the Clone Wars.
I really hope they make a dreadnaught for either rebel or imperia!
