While I didn't predict this, I can't say that I am surprised. AMG, and more probably their overseas production capacity, cannot maintain even FFG's erratic release schedule.
I do remain hopeful that once production of reprints is established,(something FFG sacrificed to produce new waves,) we may see additional expansions. If AMG is able to maintain the competitive play community, while offering reprints, they will have every incentive to produce further expansions. Fingers crossed.
Worst case, I will continue to create my own fan content expansions, as will many in the community. I have enough unique ships for 12 plus factions, spanning several Star Wars eras, and was prudent enough to have 5 children to guarantee I always have someone to play Armada with.
I really hope they don't flake out on the reprints. I still need 7 ISDs for my Battle of Endor reenactment, and quiet a few Venators and Munificents!
I'm still taking this (semi) optimisticly. I think we can all agree AMG was completely unprepared to take on the SW games when they were handed to them and are still struggling to find their feet. Armada has always been the slow burner of the lot so it makes sense that it wasn't the first project they are tackling. Reprints and Organized play support are both awesome news and show that the game isn't being completely abandoned. Though as @GhostofNobodyInParticular noted we are looking at a 18 month design process so 2022 is looking unlikely for any new products.
Hopefully that just means that it will give them enough time to feel comfortable with the games and learn that the obvious next choice should be the dependable Dreadnaught Class Heavy Cruiser!
Im not optimistic at all about the future of Armada. This to me says the game is dead (in terms of new content), otherwise the message could/would have been wildly different.
Even more so given the Clone Wars stuff is still new & they can’t even get it together to do at least one more wave.
My son has a need for more GCW ships for his collection, maybe one or two for mine. He also needs the GR core set for him (He has the Pelta and I have hidden away two Venetors and two Sqn packs) and I’d also like to see the core set ships released as individuals. If they aren’t then I need to ask myself do I need 3 Munificents and 5 Hardcells? This is what I would end up with if I bought another Core Set and then one of each ship when they are released as an individual one. 🤔

At we will be gettig reprints! And hopefully with consistent card sizes. My wallet is happy about this, and since the game is in a very nice spot at the moment, and even the CW factions are strong as is (for all thst they're expensive if you want multiple core set ships), I think it is OK.It would be nice if they released the CW Core Set ships seperately, but unless they only include old cards, it is not going to happen until they begin working on new Armada content, so we won't be seeing them for at least 18 months (the development time for content according to AMG).

Hopefully they roll out the Core set ships as individuals then for CW, but looks like they are now shifting to GCW.
Haven’t seen his video yet. Will have to check it out.
I was watching Crabbok video, it's a sad day for sure... but weirdly reading it doesn't make me that much worried.
Also like I said in the past, for me Armada will never die.
If the game is really going to be shut down I will be happy to dedicate my time for community made expansions.
