Question: is it possible to make following threads or sub-forums easier? I'm following general but it doesn't seem to do anything. If a thread updates I need to manually scroll through and see what exactly happened by the timestamp of replies, which is a bit of a hassle given it could be a nested response to an earlier comment or a new comment at the end.
@GhostofNobodyInParticular Thanks. I don't mean to be nitpicky, but I'm already finding I don't really like checking on the new forum because I have no idea where new responses actually are and scrolling through a big thread is a mess.
@snipafist As I understand it, notifications work on a tier system: following a subforum notifies you when new threads are created there, following a thread notifies you when new posts are made, and... replies just notify the person being addressed.
Which is annoying, but likely beyond my ability to change. I'm optimistic about getting a functioning notification bar at least, though.
We are now open for business! The response here has been positive (though I plan to make quality of life improvements, don't worry), and I figured it made sense to kick things off on a Friday.
Feature from the old forums that would be nice to include here is notifications of if folks responded to your messages that aren't an email.
I want to know if someone replied to a post of mine, but I definitely do not want to get an email every time someone clicks like on a comment I made. Doesn't seem to be a middle ground at the moment.
There's a page for them on your profile (linked by the bell icon as well), and a notifications bar that I disabled because they wouldn't clear. I'll look into bringing it back, that would definitely be more convenient.
Edit: it's a known bug, but not a recent one. We'll see if their support team can be of help.

Ctrl + (PC) or Apple + (I think) could be potential solutions for high-res monitors.
I’m on mobile and am encountering a significant delay between screens when loading. The forum disappears for a second so it’s a bit jarring. Here’s the screen in between.
Greetings all! I will be checking this out on my cell phones, both my personal Android and my work iPhone. Currently looking good on my Android so far. Text modifying is easy enough and the screen seems the right size. Although my poor eyes have been squinting a bit as I've been staring at a laptop screen all day with work. Thanks for the invite.
No worries, I appreciate the feedback. I'm fiddling around with the editor right now, and if I were a more responsible person these changes would be previewed first. I've removed the grid lines which is a start; now I'm toying with the idea of deleting the sidebar. (Assuming that's an option in the editor.)
Yeah looks a little small at high resolution. Wouldn't mind seeing the main forum get wider. For now I just blew up the scale in chrome and it seems pretty readable.
A bit better, yeah. Still a bit too narrow for my liking (once you factor in the sidebar and the background graphic around 40% of the page is actual forum space) but I acknowledge others may feel differently.
I'm not sure if it's my monitor being fairly wide but it feels like the functional forum part of the page takes up roughly the middle half and the background image takes up the remaining half (one quarter to each side). Maybe widen the forum a bit?
That's all I've got. Otherwise looks good.

Thanks for setting this up :-).
Little thing, but email notifications of comments/replies use the default Forum Name of "Main Page" ie: Notification from Main Page
This looks fantastic so far. Super excited to see what the future of Armada holds!

Impatiently waiting for articles on the next wave of ships. Anyone else ready for an announcement?

Love the new forum... Is it too early to complain that The Jabbawookiee hasn't posted a new article in forever?
Definitely could be download speed as I am on cell data. Will check on PC when I get home.
Oh and thank you Jabbawookiee for setting this up!!
Yeah, I get that but just for about a second. Could it be your device or download speed? I’ve now switched to an iPhone 8+ (better on my eyes lol).

This is what it looks like now. Less background graphic but it's been replaced with just the basic central bar and no more text space.
I want to be clear I view this as collaborative troubleshooting and not criticism ;).
Awwww yeeeee new forum.
