I played a sep vs rebel game. I ran 2 starhawk with akbar and my friend ran two munificents and a Hardcell with a bunch of squads. ( I was really hoping he would not bring squad heavy). It was a close game but he managed to take down one starhawk and keep his munificents out of range of my second hawk. Its a fun list but maybe not excited well.
The idea was I can use my front arc on the approach but then switch to only side arc and still get high damage output.
Played a few games already with multiple factions vs Clone Wars. Even at 400 points, they can hold their own. GAR has a handicap having only 1 Fleet Support slot (using Radiant VII title), although they make up for it depending on fleet composition. Separatists hit hard, those Munificents are crazy strong. The hardcells are also tough little guys.
First game I played with the republic was against the rebels in a 300pt game, the republic fighters fared quite well, and even with the consulars getting smashed without doing a thing (through poor piloting) the game was still only lost by poor objective play. All in all, seems pretty well balaced.
The lack of immediate choice in fleet building is tricky, but its not insurmountable. What they have basline is good. In a couple of months, I doubt it'll be any more of an issue. I think if we were approaching this without the Squadron Packs at the very least, it'd be a much less diverse, and much trickier issue. There's a lot of moving parts potential already, and 2 more Ships coming for each will blast that wide open to abject competitiveness.
Plus, right at this point - everyone's shaky and out of Real-World Practice. Level playing field!
I played a tank SSD Vs a separatist fleet of one Munificent and 4 Hardcells with some squadrons. The only hull damage the SSD suffered was through collisions, but it felt like I was running basically the perfect counter to that seppie list.
Still, I think the separatists held their ground quite well, sand those Hardcells can be quite when navigating!
I've run a game of Imps vs Seps. Kinda odd scaling down to 300pts, but at that level the new factions definitely seem to hold their own, Will need more games for sure moving on.
