Hey, I've recently been playing casually via TTS and liked playing with the old Garm "garbage fire" list for a bit before 1.5 changed things up. I've been tweaking some stuff and would like some feedback since my "meta" is one person 😀

The parts I'd like to keep about this list are that you've got a bunch of combat ships with IF! that also have medium fighter backup. I deploy the AFII and Pelta in the center with the squadrons and Neb-B/Hammerhead go on the flanks. My opponent prefers ISD lists so I'm a little concerned about the AFII's survivability, which brings up the question of target priority- the AFII has Garm but is prickly and probably the toughest ship there, so I think you'd want to encourage the enemy to shoot it over the Pelta to keep IF! going? I've also been firing Garm on turns 2 and 4.
So I had a little play around, and this is what I came up with:
Garm 4ship Redux
Faction: Rebel Alliance Commander: Garm Bel Iblis Points: 400/400
Assault Objective: Surprise Attack Defense Objective: Contested Outpost Navigation Objective: Solar Corona
Assault Frigate Mark II A (81 points) - Paragon ( 5 points) - Kyrsta Agate (off) ( 5 points) - Reactive Gunnery ( 4 points) - Linked Turbolaser Towers ( 7 points) = 102 total ship cost
Modified Pelta-class Command Ship (60 points) - Phoenix Home ( 3 points) - Ezra Bridger ( 3 points) - Ahsoka Tano (off) ( 2 points) - Intensify Firepower! ( 6 points) = 74 total ship cost
[ flagship ] CR90 Corvette A (44 points) - Garm Bel Iblis ( 25 points) - Jainas Light ( 2 points) - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points) = 78 total ship cost
Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 points) - Yavaris ( 5 points) = 62 total ship cost
1 Jan Ors ( 19 points) 2 X-Wing Squadrons ( 26 points) 2 Y-Wing Squadrons ( 20 points) 1 Biggs Darklighter ( 19 points) = 84 total squadron cost
A few points:
Reactive Gunnery is a much more reliable way of getting off salvo attacks than a regular Salvo token, so this Assault Frigate should make better use of Kysta Agate officer.
A TLC corvette should be able to stay out of trouble much better than the Frigate, so I'd make that your flagship. Other ships you can expect to sacrifice.
With the help of tokens Yavaris & the Pelta will do a great job puching squadrons. You could switch Ezra Bridger for Fighter Control Team for more mobility.
Hey thanks for the input, haven't got a chance to play recently unfortunately. The MK2A might be a good idea, I was put off by the worse squadron value but I think I should be able to finagle it with Garm. I'll definitely try out the QBT sometime and the Scout over the TRC90 is mostly just the tiny cost savings. I do worry that makes the Assault Frigate a little too flimsy for a flagship.
I see someone else shares my love of Paragon!
I've been testing Reactive Gunnery over Local Fire Control, because I can't bear to drop the Evade Token completely, and then when the Redirect Token runs out of shields I can start using that instead. I use the points saved (no Agate off or ECM) to upgrade to the Assault Frig MK2A, which has much fiercer Front & Rear arcs.
Since you've got Garm, it would be nice to squeeze Phoneix Home onto the Pelta, to really bank those tokens up. Ezra Bridger is a good choice since you'll likely be playing a lot of Contested Outpost - hiding the Outpost deep into your side of the table plays into your strategy of keeping the enemy at a distance.
Since you have the dice fixing from IF!, I'd give Salvation extra dice over the re-roll, Quad Battery Turrets would be a great choice here.
I'd pick a TRC C90 over the Scout corvette if possible.
Missions wise, Surprise Attack could be a great Red Objective as you have the long range firepower to quickly take down even a large flagship if you get aggressive. I don't know if you have speciffic plans for Hyperspace Migration, but if not you could also give Solar Corona a try.
I'm playing casual for years!...So probably not the most worthy advice!
I've played a similar Garmin list yesterday in TTS. 3xNeb, Pelta IF and LMC80.
Timing is important. Bring your ships on your target simultaneously. Plan ahead.
Dropping the Y-wings will give you points to replace the HH for a 2 Neb, and command all squadrons with Pelta.
As for objectives, I think it always be the most difficult thing to master in this game... Station Assault and Contested Outpost can be tricky with the Onager.
Cheers!
