A quick batrep between my son and I . We deliberately didn’t reveal our fleets to each other until on the cusp of battle. This meant after much psychological warfare on his part he completely outfoxed me by bringing a 6 ship no squadron Kenobi list vs my 2 ship Trench heavy squadron list lol. Without going too much into detail he had both types of Pelta, two Consulates, an Acclimator and a Venetor. My list is below: -
Assault: Surprise Attack Defense: Contested Outpost Navigation: Solar Corona
Providence Dreadnought (105) • Admiral Trench (36) • Rune Haako (4) • Flight Controllers (6) • Expanded Hangar Bay (5) • External Racks (4) • DBY-827 Heavy Turbolasers (3) • Invincible (5) • Thermal Shields (5) = 173 Points
Recusant Support Destroyer (90) • TI-99 (4) • Spinal Armament (9) • Nova Defiant (4) = 107 Points
Squadrons: • Baktoid Prototype (16) • 3 x Hyena Droid Bomber Squadron (33) • General Grievous (22) • 6 x Vulture Droid Fighter Squadron (48) = 119 Points
Total Points: 399
I think my Trench dials where 2 x Sqn, and one each of Repair and Conc Fire. I was second player and contested outpost was chosen. I loaded up on pass tokens, and first ship down was my Recusant followed by all my Squads, before I revealed my Providence at the end to start racking up the objective tokens. Due to the narrowness of the playing area, we always start with ships touching the long edge. My son apprehensively deployed off to one flank. Setup is as per the picture below at the end.
Turn one saw us carry out moves as he tried to swing his ships in a ninety degree turn, and I moved mine at speed 1. My squads got into position with a possible trench squad command squad ready for turn 2. I had my Providence near the station collecting objective tokens.
Turn 2 we where still tentatively approaching each other, and I thought that if I wasn’t careful the providence could have been bypassed at turn 5 and lose some points to Contested outpost, so rather than push forward and squadron strike his Pelta’s, I dropped him down to speed zero and sat on the station. All squads where in distance 3 of both ships at the end ready with Squadron tokens.
Turn 3 saw me with the Recusant out of range, so I was out activated by the Peltas. I put down my first Trench dial (Sqn) and launched 4 Hyenas at the first Pelta, putting three (?) in his front arc to tempt my son to shoot squads instead of my Recusant (I believe it was blue dice range), but he ignored these. I got some shields off of him and he removed all the shields off the Recusant at the front, rear (redirected) and right hull. I then launched my Vultures and Greivous from the Providence and took more shields and put done damage cards on one Pelta. Providence back up to speed 1.
Turn 4 saw me take damage cards to the Recusant including Projector Misalignment so my shields dropped to 0. I took three more damage cards as well this turn it destroyed one Pelta and dished out more damage to the other. (Picture below prior to Clam move, 1st photo). At the end of the turn the Acclimator did a right turn to fire at the Recusant
Turn 5 saw me lose my Recusant and I started to lose a few squads. My Providence and squads got rid of the Pelta.
Turn 6 saw me lose more squads and I shot at the Venetia which had finally joined the fight. Once points where tallied I had lost more points but gained a massive 120 objective points from Contested Outpost.
How did we both find our Admirals? Well, put it this way, we both won’t be using them next game lol. Trench for me was just difficult to co-ordinate, and I found that he only benefited one ship during the turn, so there were either wasted dials, or the proper command dials couldn’t be turned into tokens as I already had them. More homework on Trench required! Apologies for the photos as I uploaded them and they are sideways on lol

I was concentrating on objective farming so the Recusant started to slip away from the Providence, and with Trench trying to spam Sqn commands it was difficult to stop this. I did get Rune to steal Nova Defiants nav token so I could get my Providence back up to speed 1, but then I’d got no more nav left. I actually thought the Recusant could deal with the two Peltas but when the Acclimator arrived it sealed its fate. The next few months will find games played on the 2’8” wide table rather than the big board in the garage whilst we keep having these cold snaps lol. I did mention to my son about deployment and not spreading out so much. Hopefully he takes it on board.
Seems like you both failed to keep your forces concentrated...
I haven’t tried Trench but he does look rather questionable. Needing the right tokens ahead of time seems like quite a massive drawback!
